Known Battles
No battle is recorded in the chronicles of the Dance — Drogon never met another dragon in the sky.
Lore
Drogon was the largest and fiercest of Daenerys Targaryen's three dragons, black of scale with red stripes and eyes like hot embers. He was named for Daenerys' dead husband, Khal Drogo, and hatched from the last of the three petrified eggs on the funeral pyre that made Daenerys a queen of the ashes — the first dragons born into the world in more than a century.
Where his brothers were curious, Drogon was savage: he killed, hunted and burned with an intelligence that frightened even Daenerys. He grew with terrible speed, and in the fighting pits of Meereen he came to his mother when she called, bore her out of the riot and carried her into the wastes of the Dothraki sea — dragon and rider alone together for the first time.
To every scholar and Targaryen alive, Drogon is Balerion the Black Dread made small and growing: the same black scales, the same black fire, the same unbowed spirit. Daenerys' reign, her claim to the Iron Throne, and the return of magic to the world are all bound up in him — and where Drogon flies, men remember what dragons were for.
