Lore
Seasmoke was a silver-grey dragon, nimble and responsive under the hand, who was claimed by Ser Laenor Velaryon, son of Lord Corlys. Laenor rode him from the youth, and Seasmoke was as much a fixture of Driftmark as the Velaryon banners — until Laenor's supposed death in 120 AC left the dragon riderless and, it was said, grieving.
The dragon's second bond was the strangest of the war. Seasmoke began to haunt a baseborn boy of Hull — Addam, later Addam of Hull, whom Queen Rhaenyra legitimised as a Velaryon — and at last settled on his shoulder and took him as his rider. From that moment Addam was a dragonrider of the Blacks, and Seasmoke, who had been Laenor's, flew him loyally to the end.
At the Second Battle of Tumbleton in 130 AC, Addam led the relief of the town atop Seasmoke: first he fought the riderless Tessarion in a nimble duel in the air, then, seeing the great Vermithor descend on the field, he turned the smaller dragon against the Bronze Fury himself. Vermithor's jaws closed on Seasmoke and killed him; Addam of Hull fell with him, and neither rose.
